Terms Glossary > Intrusion Prevention System
An intrusion prevention system is much like a security system for your house; the locks/firewall will keep some people out. The alarm or the monitoring/alerting system will let you know when someone gets past the firewall and attempts to access the information they should not. The challenge with intrusion prevention systems is they can provide more information than is consumable. Knowing what alerts to get and what information to log is part of configuring the IPS. Once you have the correct data, training your monitoring teams to understand the information they acquire and react appropriately is critical. There are various intrusion protection systems available, and each company should select the one that best meets its needs.
Whether you are just starting your security journey or looking to take testing to the next level, securing your business is what we do, and we look forward to working with you.
